The S/PDIF digital signal is carried as an analogue waveform, but compared to the line level cables the signal operates at very high frequencies in the MHz range. An advantage of using magnetic conduction in digital cables is that it results in higher slew rate, less jitter, and far superior performance compared to standard cables. The High Fidelity Cables CT-1 Ultimate digital interconnect cables utilize a purer grade alloy conductor which increase the ferromagnetic permeability to a higher level.
Each CT-1 Ultimate interconnect cable contains an inline Wave Guide V2 module. Wave guides are powerful magnetic systems that enhance the performance of magnetic conduction-based cables to a high degree. The magnetic technology found in the connectors is more powerful than those in the Reveal and CT-2.
