Sparkos Labs Aries Headphone Amplifier Debuts in the UK
Introducing the new Sparkos Labs Aries high-end pre-amplifier and headphone amplifier for audiophiles who want the best sound quality.
The Aries is no run-of-the-mill headphone amp, its design architecture utilises the fully discrete components where it matters. The main audio path is designed around two pairs of Sparkos SS2590 discrete op-amps for the input and output stages, and the SS3601 and SS3602 discrete op-amps handle the XLR inputs and drive the preamp outputs.
At Aries, power supply dispenses with generic 3-pin voltage regulators in favour of Sparkos discrete voltage regulators providing 15X lower output noise compared with any other monolithic regulator. The discrete regulators provide a very low noise floor allowing the low-level music signal to preserved and subsequently a more detailed and lifelike listening experience.
Another feature of the Aries is the stepped attenuator with 0.1% thin-film resistors. A stepped attenuator as the volume control is far superior to any potentiometer providing less degradation of the signal and better channel matching. This attention to design is especially critical when listening through headphones.
The Aries headphone amplifier is available in 2 versions, the Base Model priced £2495.00 and Full Model price £2995.00. The differences between the 2 versions are that the Full model has extra input and output connectors for use as a pre-amplifier.
Audition the Aries headphone amplifier today with a 30-day home trial (terms and conditions apply).
